In this match, New Zealand on the toss and elected to bat first. Their decision was extremely favorable as they began their batting outstandingly. The opening of Kane Williamson and Martin Guptill worked absolutely wonderful for New Zealand, but still Australian bowlers were looking a bit tougher. After taking the wickets of openers, Australian bowlers were boosted and truly putted New Zealand under pressure. But still New Zealand worked hard as Colin Munro and Grant Elliot scored some extra runs and gave a target of 143 to Australia. Still, Australian bowlers did well to restrict them under 150 but still it is not a very easy-to-achieve score. Now Let’s see how Australia turns their game on and if they can achieve the target. They are a very tough side too!
In the 2nd innings, Australian openers Usman Khuwaja and Shane Watson played really well in the beginning and took a great start. But New Zealand bowlers were doing every bit of hard work to stop Australia from achieving the target. Then, it was Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh to score some runs and become supportive to their team. But New Zealand bowlers deserved the credit of bowling extraordinary spells against the batsmen and restricting them to achieve the target. In the end, it turned unfavorable for Australia to achieve the target and New Zealand took the victory by 8 runs. The bowling spells were outstanding from both sides. But New Zealand were bit more interesting with their bowling, especially, Mitchell McClenaghan who took 3 wickets and was declared as Man of the Match in the end. Congratulations to New Zealand cricket team for their brilliant win! 🙂
Australia is not a loose side, but maybe New Zealand really made it difficult for them to take victory. Overall, both of these teams are the toughest ones and joyous to watch in this tournament.
