This Super 10 match of World T20 was played between England and South Africa. It was truly thriller to watch as we have seen some aggressive and high-class performances. Let’s take it into a bit more deep and find out which team took the victory!
In this match, England won the toss and elected to field first. Now, this was a shocking decision made by them because South Africa seems to have a better bowling side and maybe they can’t make it possible for them to achieve this target. Well, South Africa batted first and tremendously began their game. Their openers played with a pure-class and entirely aggressively. Hashim Amla and Quinton De Kock absolutely took a rocking start, and even both of them reached their half-centuries. South Africa doesn’t seem to be disappointed with the fall-of-wickets of both the openers because they had a tough batting-lineup to cover the game from then on. AB De Villiers and Faf Du Plessis took an aggressive start but didn’t stayed any longer on the crease. England worked well to take these wickets, but JP Duminy and David Miller were the ones to take the game for a long way and help their team to put a huge target on the board. Finally, it was the target of 230 for England to chase. Seems impossible? Yes! But don’t forget, the pitch is favoring the batsmen and England can do it if they’ll play in a more extraordinary way. Let’s see. 🙂
In the 2nd innings, England took a great start too with their batting. Maybe they have similar plans to what South Africa have already did and the way they’ve played. So, Jason Roy and Alex Hales took a purely aggressive start. Hales was taken out bit early, but Jason Roy stayed and played a brisk knock of 43 runs on just 16 deliveries. But their whole game got depended on Joe Root, who stayed and played a wonderful innings of 83 runs. He putted South Africa literally under pressure. When his wicket was taken, it seemed like England is not gonna make it. But the score was chased down finally. The whole credit goes to Joe Root whose innings made it really a piece of cake to win this game. Most noticeably, South Africa made constant mistakes with their bowling and gave 26 extra runs to the batting team. In the end, Moeen Ali finished the game and England won by 2 wickets with 2 balls even remaining. England made a record of highest-chase in T20 format. Congratulations to team England for their classy win in this tournament. 🙂
No words for South Africa because they played really well and it was entirely unexpected that such a huge score could be chased. But England did it! They’re back in form and surely, they are not a easier-to-defeat side now. WOW!
So, do you wanna say anything about England’s such a big chase? What do you think about Joe Root who was also declared as Man of the Match? Anything to say about South African cricket team? Share your thoughts!
