This is the 19th Super 10 match of World T20 2016 and this is the important one for both the teams; India and Australia Let’s see who takes victory in this one and gets directly to the semi-final. A tough game! Scroll down to find out who got victorious and how was it, overall.
In this match, Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. They must be looking for a massive target to give and defend it. Australia opened with Usman Khuwaja and Aaron Finch. Both of them played a fantastic game in first few overs, and for a meanwhile it seemed like Australia is gonna score 200+ if they keep going like this. However, India finally made a breakthrough, removing Usman Khuwaja in the 5th over. The partnership of Khuwaja and Finch was truly hurting India, but they made a good comeback in the game. Then it was David Warner and Steven Smith (captain), but both of them didn’t stayed any longer on the crease. Finch was still out there playing his game. Finch’s knock of 43 runs and Glenn Maxwell’s 31 runs were quiet important to put big score on the board and put India under pressure. Then there was a good support of Shane Watson on the batting side as well. Finally, Australia ended up with 161 runs target for India. Good defending score! But let’s see how India works it out. Expecting entertaining cricket from India.
Australia’s Fall of Wickets: 54-1 (Khawaja, 4.2 ov), 72-2 (Warner, 7.5 ov), 74-3 (Smith, 9.1 ov), 100-4 (Finch, 12.6 ov), 130-5 (Maxwell, 16.3 ov), 145-6 (Faulkner, 19.1 ov)
In the 2nd innings, India opened with Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma. But of the openers didn’t stayed much longer and were dismissed in the 6th over of the innings. However, it was all about Virat Kohli who came on to the crease and to be honest, he always makes his game ‘a gentleman’s one’. He made a good partnership with Yuvraj Singh but their game was quiet really slow that at the moment, many people thought that India couldn’t make it. But Kohli was still out there, folks! When Yuvraj’s wicket was taken, Virat Kohli made a partnership with the skipper MS Dhoni. Maybe he was waiting for MS Dhoni to come as a partner, haha! He began a brisk game that almost dropped the jaws of Australian cricket fans. Virat Kohli once again, inspired everyone with his match-winning knock. He scored 82 runs and stayed not-out till the end. Australia worked hard but couldn’t defend it well in the end. India won the match by 6 wickets with 5 balls still remaining. Though, it’s a farewell to Australian cricket team. They couldn’t make it to the semi-finals, but best of luck to them for the next time. Congratulations to Indian cricket team for making their way to the semi-finals!
India’s Fall of Wickets: 23-1 (Dhawan, 3.5 ov), 37-2 (Sharma, 5.5 ov), 49-3 (Raina, 7.4 ov), 94-4 (Yuvraj Singh, 13.6 ov)
India is been so tough when it comes to ‘chase’. But the credit goes to Virat Kohli for being a match-turner! He really can turn the game anytime and win it for his team. Amazing talent in Indian cricket team! Meanwhile, Australia is not a bad side at all. They’ve been very tough too. But maybe it was a unlucky day for them! Still they’re the world-class team.
Australian cricketer Shane Watson has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket now and it was his last game. He really performed well; taking a stunning catch, scoring runs and taking wickets with his bowling spell. Terrific player he has been in Australian cricket team! Best wishes to him with his family after the retirement..! Watson, cricket won’t forget you!
